    This is great.

Honestly when you have PMF the users wind up doing a lot of the hard marketing work for you. New users just keep showing up. Old ones continue to preach. The product takes on a life of its own, regardless of your own influence.

Spot on. When you got it, you'll wonder how you lived without it.

I appreciated how this article showed some metrics but also spoke to the actual feeling of have PMF. I think these soft-skills (the ability to sense certain things and use one's intuition) are often overlooked, but they're super important.

And the ten points at the bottom, lol. I hope one day to be so lucky as to experience even one of those situations (well, I could live without having an incompetent sales team or "doing almost everything wrong"), but other than that the feeling must be so exciting.

I’ve only felt it once. But you know it when you feel it. It’s a pull. And it makes you say “holy shit, it’s happening”

that sums it up perfectly "more like a feeling than a number".

Maybe was easier 40 years ago. I know someone who reduced telephone's cost by 99% for consumers. That's obvious product market fit.

People often mistake high customer acquisition as PMF, but like the author says, it's retention. Don't get me wrong, high acquisition is a good indicator that you're doing something right... but it's not necessarily PMF. Could be... coining a term here... marketing-market-fit? Or brand-market-fit. Yeah that sounds better. 🤪

Beware of BMF! It's a red herring!

Fair comment. I think all PMF had high net retention but not all high net retention has PMF.

      Agree?

Great post. On the WBE Space i am retaining 50% of the users or more but the problem is really getting those users in the first place
