Hey everyone!
Being a founder is hard. Being a founder in a bear market is even more difficult. I struggled with pricing during this crypto and market crash, asking myself questions like: Should we charge more? Should we charge less? Should we open source and aim for partnerships? It's finally hit me, I know what I should do. I'm working on a product called Hatchfi, like a Plaid for Crypto. We make connecting wallets, exchanges, and protocols to any application easy.
I believe the answer is to try to make our unique API as easy to start as possible. That means making the developer experience smooth, easy to understand, and affordable; $500 a month isn't affordable for most builders working on fintech products. I launched a new pricing tier specifically designed for the folks who don't need all the bells and whistles, starting at $49.
So far, the sign-ups look healthier; we averaged around 1 - 2 a week prior and are already above that today.
Lesson: Instead of complaining about the market and sitting out, I just reflected on why I started Hatchfi in the first place. I've felt happy to code in the last couple of days.
hope everyone out there is weathering the store okay
