A lot of people organize their life with todo lists, notion etc.
Which I would call un-structured, because it is up to you to fit everything from birthdays to doctor visits to habit and shopping lists into the same kind of mechanism, be that a page or todo item.
My idea is to have something that is more structured that understands the common things most people would want help organizing and not forgetting:
Recurring chores - e.g. renew insurance, gutter cleaning, pest control, pet vaccinations, tax returns ...
One off deadlines - kids school tests or speeches, court summons, voucher expiry date...
Birthdays and Anniversaries
Keeping track of acquaintances / who's who type thing
Chase-ups, e.g. refunds (did they pay me?), unreliable customer service that need ass kicking
Appointments - this is a different type because you need to be there, or move the appointment
Receipts - that you may use at tax time or for refunds in the future, or just to remember what you spent money on.
Other things I am sure to think of!
The idea is to treat these things differently, giving the most appropriate reminders. Maybe some are just an email, some require your phone to buzz to make sure you really didn't forget. Chaseups for example might be like a light CRM so you can keep a track of evidence.
I also want the UX to be super obvious, so you are really confident you will be reminded and how that will happen. A lot of apps leave this a bit mysterious. And I want to make it really good, so that nothing is forgotten or lost track of! But at the same time the app feels really nice and encouraging, using psychology to make you want to use it rather than run a mile from all the todos.
The question then, is does this idea click for anyone?
