How to come up with a good name for your startup?
Okay, a name is an important part of any company. It may not be the most important part (think Apple) but it sure helps a lot to have a good name.
Over time, I've developed the following criteria to help come up with a good startup name.
The answer to all of these questions should be YES.
- Is the name somehow related to what the startup does?
- Is the name easy to remember, and doesn't have confusing spelling?
- Can you get a decent domain for this name at a reasonable price?
After that, if the answer to these questions is YES, this should prove very helpful for your journey.
4. When you search for that name, do a lot of results show up? Is there space for you with little effort to gain the #1 spot when people search for the name of your startup?
5. The more you repeat the name, does it sound nice to your ears?
