FreyaVideo Update: Wan 2.6 is Live (I2V + T2V)

Hi Indie Hackers — we just shipped Wan 2.6 on FreyaVideo.

Wan 2.6 adds two workflows:

  • Image-to-Video (I2V): upload an image + motion prompt → MP4

  • Text-to-Video (T2V): prompt → MP4

Why we built it:
A lot of creators want “one good shot” fast — b-roll, product clips, story transitions — without learning a complex toolchain.

What you get:

  • 5/10/15s video lengths

  • Multiple output sizes/aspect options (depending on mode)

  • Optional prompt expansion + multi-shot segmentation

  • Credits-based pricing (no subscription)

If you try it, I’d love feedback on:

  1. Which I2V subjects work best for you (portrait/product/landscape/anime)?

  2. What controls feel missing or confusing?

  3. What’s your biggest pain point with AI video today?

Shipping updates like this are exactly the kind of content that can work on Reddit if framed around use-cases, not models.

From a Reddit growth perspective, I2V and T2V land best when shown as “one-shot solutions” (b-roll, quick product loops, story transitions) rather than feature lists. Threads that start with what someone needed in 10 minutes usually outperform generic AI video posts.

The credits model is also Reddit-friendly less friction, fewer objections in comments.

Curious which use case is getting the most organic pull so far: product clips, social b-roll, or storytelling

Thanks for the insight — framing around use-cases rather than models makes sense. Will keep that in mind for future posts.

To answer your question: still early so hard to say definitively, but social b-roll and quick product clips seem to get the most interest so far. People want something they can use right away without much editing.

Storytelling is cool but feels more niche — most users just want a 5-8 second clip for TikTok or ads.

That tracks really well with what I’ve seen too short, immediately usable clips almost always win early, especially when the output fits straight into TikTok, ads, or landing pages without extra editing.

One thing that tends to work especially well on Reddit is anchoring future posts around very specific moments, like:
“I needed a 6-second product loop for an ad before a launch” or
“We used I2V to turn a single product shot into usable b-roll in under 10 minutes.”

Those kinds of posts usually pull better comments and more organic curiosity than broader AI video discussions. You also get higher-quality feedback because people respond with their own workflows and pain points.

If you ever want, I’m happy to help you map a few Reddit-native angles around social b-roll and product clips that fit different communities more discussion-led than promotional. Even just as an experiment to see what resonates.

That's a great point — anchoring around specific use cases makes it feel less like a product pitch and more like a solution.

Would love to take you up on that offer. I've been mostly focused on Twitter so far, but Reddit feels like it could work well for the "I needed X and here's how I did it" format.

Happy to DM you some examples of what people are generating, and we can brainstorm angles that fit different communities.

That sounds great I agree, the “I needed X, here’s how I solved it” angle is where Reddit really shines compared to other platforms.

Sharing real examples would be perfect. Seeing what people are already generating makes it much easier to shape angles that feel native to each community rather than generic AI or marketing talk.

Feel free to reach out anytime I’m available on Telegram (@annyfrosh45) or by email ([email protected]). Happy to brainstorm a few Reddit-native experiments and see what actually resonates in the wild.

            Looking forward to it.

Awesome, really appreciate it. I'll put together a few examples of what users have been generating and reach out on Telegram this week.

Thanks for being so helpful 🙏
