A guided mood board app for designers to capture client vision and reduce rework
Any designers out there? Is this solving an actual problem that you have?
This is something I thought of when trying to decide how to get a client’s vision for a Shopify theme. Basically like a typeform for mood boards. There’s a demo video on my website.
I like the gist of the product. The questions I have are where do the images come from? Where do the colors come from? etc etc. Are the general content provided by your product or added by the designer before sending to a client?
I would love to create a curated "wizard" that presents multiple color palettes and images etc that a client clicks through. Basically asking "Does this look like your brand?" each time
Thanks caleb! The images in the mock-up and the MVP I had in mind were pulling from unsplash based on the adjectives entered on the first page. Colors were just default tailwind colors and fonts were a few google fonts I liked.
I’ve definitely had the feature in mind to let designers create a library of assets and colors. Maybe even tag assets with particular moods to tie into the adjectives piece. I’ve also thought about tying in with monotype and Adobe typekit to let devs use assets they already own. Trying to figure out how I would solve a library of web components or interactions that could also get brought in. Definitely think the curation aspect could be powerful feature in addition to a standard library if a designer didn’t want to fill it up with images first.

No problem. I definitely see the value in a structured Moodboard/Visual Design tool for designers and clients.
From my experience, projects always go better when I start off with a Moodboard process to get consensus on design with the client.
